No more ‘Voice of an Angel’

Lifesite is reporting that Ignatius Press has decided to no longer carry products featuring Charlotte Church in their catalogs.

In an official statement,Ignatius Press stated, “It is with regret that we do this; Miss Church possesses a great gift from God, and in the past she has used her talent often to offer praise and glory to our Lord.” While Ignatius Press praised the sacred music Charlotte had done in the past, they said, “We cannot stand by a young woman who uses her stature in the media to mock the Eucharist, slander the Holy Father, and denigrate the vows of religious women. Therefore, our catalogs and website will immediately withdraw all compact discs, cassette tapes, DVDs and VHS tapes that feature Miss Church. Please join us in praying for this troubled young woman.”

Aquinas and More Catholic Goods has also mentioned this on their blog and no longer are carrying her products.

Bonnie CLAC

Bonnie CLAC was written up in the latest issue of Time magazine. I had never heard of the organization before but thought that it was a great idea.

CLAC stands for Car Loans and Counseling. Robert Chambers works to negotiate fair prices and to get low interest loans for the working poor. This is his way of helping people to get into a decent a car without being taken for every nickle and dime. His clients have saved an average of over $7,000 over the life of the loan. Bonnie CLAC has underwritten over 10 million dollars in loans in the last 5 years.

Lord of the Rings Profits = Support for Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, who brought the J.R.R. Tolkien epic to the screen, together donated $310,000 earlier this month to fund research using the stem cells of human embryos. Lifesite has the story on their website.

Catholic Mobile

I have downloaded a Catholic wallpaper from Catholic Mobile for my Sprint phone. The website was easy to use and make a purchase.
And the picture of St. Joseph holding Jesus looks great on my phone.
