Knitting to Warm Mongolia

I ran across this site on the web. The Dulaan Project out of Flagstaff, Arizona is a project of Flagstaff International Releif Effort (FIRE). The purpose of the project is to “inspire the generous spirit of the knitting community to help meet the urgent needs of Mongolia’s impoverished people.”

The idea is for those of us (sorry, it does not include me) who knit to make hats, mittens, socks, neck gaitors, scarves and sweaters for all ages from babies to adults. The group will then deliver them to Mongolia to be distributed before Winter.

Warm, well-made clothing can allow a child to go to school or an adult to go to work; restore a sense of dignity; and, in some cases, literally save a life.

Go to the website for more info and get started knitting to day.
