Pro-lfe organizations are encouraging Christians to contact Wal-Mart about distributing the movie. The best method to do this is to contact the Manager of your local store, let them know of your displeasure and to asks them to not stock the movie.

Birth control nurse for all schools!

By 2010, every school in England will have a nurse who can arrange secret abortions and hand out contraception. They will be allowed to help pupils get the morning-after pill, pregnancy tests and terminations without their parents’ knowledge.

Recent statistics revealed that thousands of 13-year-old girls have been handed the morning-after pill by health service staff without their parents’ permission.

Another reason to be glad we aren’t British…too bad this happens in the US also.

Wichita: Abortion Capital of the World.

Women come from all over the United States to have abortions in Wichita, Kansas; and now the city has the title to prove it. Two billboards have went up south of Oklahoma City on I-35 that proclaim Wichita as the Abortion Capital of the World. A story was published in the Wichita Eagle about the billboards that were put up by Operation Rescue West.

The billboards show a newborn baby and a pensive young woman under the banner “Abortion: One Dead, One Wounded.” They were put up to steer those who oppose abortion rights away from visiting Wichita and to give the women driving up from Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma about 2 ½ hours to think about what they’re doing, and maybe change their minds.

A Year-long Boycott of Ford…

The American Family Association and 20 other Pro-Family organizations have called for a boycott of Ford after Ford went back on an agreement to quit funding gay organizations that support homosexual marriage. You can contact Chairman Bill Ford at this link.

No to Coyote Ugly!

The Kansas City, KS/Wyandotte county Board of Commissioners turned down a request for a special-use permit that would have allowed a Coyote Ugly saloon to go into the Village West retail district right next door to the Kansas Speedway. Some members expressed concern that the bar would encourage excessive drinking and clash with the family-friendly atmosphere they wanted to promote.
They must have wanted to not offend the patrons visiting the Hooters that is already located in the retail district!!

Update: Wal-Mart Caves In

Wal-Mart has given in to pressure and lawsuits by agreeing to stock the morning after abortion pill at all of it’s pharmacies stating that “we feel it is difficult to justify being the country’s only major pharmacy chain not selling it.

So it is OK to sell it since everyone else is too?

3 strikes – you are out…

Where do I start? This story has a lot to be disturbed about.

Mitt Romney is finally signally an openness to working with the Catholic bishops on an exemption from the requirement that they allow adoptions through Catholic Charities. I wonder why the change of heart. It couldn’t have anything to do with presidential aspirations, could it?

The 42 member board of the Catholic Charities of Boston is on record unanimously in favor of continuing to allow gays to adopt. I am really concerned that the entire board is in favor of this. Maybe it is time for either a new board or at least some elementary religious education. I agree with the Bishop’s that this is a challenge to the religious freedoms of the Church. I would expect the board of Catholic Charities to support the Bishop’s instead of resigning in protest. Here is an exerpt from the resignation letter of Peter Meade, a vice president at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts. He is quoted as calling the Bishops’ action “an unnecessary, unmitigated disaster for children, Catholic Charities, and the Archdiocese of Boston.”

Ropes & Gray, a major Boston law firm has pulled out of providing legal work assisting the Bishop’s in their effort. Not sure what to make of that. Maybe they were just not up to fighting the good fight.

The Massachusetts bishops’ statement was signed by Archbishop Sean O’Malley of Boston and Bishops George Coleman of Fall River, Robert McManus of Worcester, and Timothy McDonnell of Springfield.

How about a big round of applause for these folks and their efforts to provide the best homes possible for these children.

One more state is on their way to banning most abortions. A law is heading through the Mississippi legislatrue that would ban all abortions except to save the life of the mother. Gov. Haley Barbour says he’d likely sign bill if it crosses his desk.

It is only a matter of time until this battle is back to the states where it belongs.
